A new era is in motion at our Bellefonte facility. Earlier this year, our central parts warehouse launched a cutting-edge conveyor system that’s already speeding up operations, elevating safety and providing more capacity for us to better serve customers.
Over the years, the old conveyor, installed back in 2007, had become increasingly difficult to maintain with outdated components and limited parts availability. With maintenance needs growing, we knew it was time to invest in a modern solution.
The new conveyor features powered rollers for quieter operation and advanced safety technology. One key improvement is automatic roller stoppage when human contact is detected, which is an extra layer of protection for our warehouse staff.
Along with improved safety and reliability, the system extends our material handling capacity, allowing us to process parts and parcels faster and more efficiently between all 30 of our facilities. It’s a behind-the-scenes change, but one that strengthens our ability to serve customers every day.
A special thanks to Tami Reichard, warehouse manager, and Pat Myers, warehouse supervisor, who documented the entire project with GoPro cameras. Their work captured the teardown of the old conveyor and installation of the new one preserving an important milestone for our Bellefonte branch. Check out the video below!
This project is part of our ongoing commitment to invest in the tools and technology that make our operations safer, faster and more effectively, supporting improved uptime and service for our customers across Pennsylvania, western Maryland and northern West Virginia.
