View a weekly calendar

Rotate iPhone sideways while in the 'Calendar' app.

Rearrange Apps

Tap and hold on any app on the home screen. The app icons will begin to wiggle and can be rearranged.

Delete/Uninstall App

Tap and hold on any app on the home screen. The app icons will begin to wiggle. Apps that can be deleted will show with an 'X' in the top left corner. Tap the 'X' to remove.

Create a folder

While rearranging apps, drag one app on top of another to create a folder. Tap the name of the folder to rename it. Drag apps into or out of the folder. Press the Home button when you finish.

Delete a folder

Drag all apps out of the folder and it will automatically delete.

Adjust the screen brightness

Go to the 'Settings' app and select 'Brightness & Wallpaper'. Drag the slider to adjust brightness, or toggle 'Auto-Brightness' to allow the brightness to adjust based on room lighting conditions. Alternately, you can quickly adjust the brightness from anywhere, including the lock screen, by swiping up from the bottom of the screen to reveal Control Center, and adjusting the brightness slider indicated by the icons that look like a Sun.

Notification Center

Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal notification center.

Control Center

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal Control Center. Here you will find quick controls for brightness, volume, and even quick app shortcuts.

Spotlight Search

Swipe down in the middle of any home screen to reveal Spotlight Search. Here you can search on the device or even the web. Results occur as you type; to hide the keyboard and see more results on the screen, tap Search.

Decline a call

Press the Sleep/Wake button (on top of the iPhone) twice, quickly. Alternately, tap decline if the phone is awake, or you can choose to decline and reply with a text message.

Remind yourself to return the call

When receiving a call, tap 'Remind Me' and indicate when you want to be reminded.

To turn on 'Do Not Disturb'

Swipe up from the bottom to reveal Control Center. Tap on the Moon icon to enable or disable 'Do Not Disturb'. This will make your iPhone completely silent, so that it will not notify you for any calls, text messages, etc.

Block numbers

You can block contacts by opening 'Settings' app and selecting 'Phone' > 'Blocked'. Alternately, in recent calls, you can tap the 'i' next to the contact or number for Info, then select 'Block this Caller' to add it to the blocked list.

Junk Folder

Tap the flag while you're reading an email, then tap Move to Junk to file it in the Junk folder. If you accidentally mark a message as junk, shake iPhone immediately to undo.

To get Driving Directions

Using the 'Maps' app, type in the destination in the text field at the top. Tap the curved arrow on the top left to bring up the directions page. It will automatically fill in 'Start' and 'End' with current location and the address specified. Tap 'Route' in the top right to begin navigation.

Timestamps in Text Messages

To see the timestamp associated with a text message, swipe from right to left and hold. The timestamps will automatically be hidden again when released.

Spirit Level

In the 'Compass' app, if you swipe from right to left, the screen will change to a spirit level.

Alternate Camera Buttons

When using the 'Camera' app, the 'Volume Up' and 'Volume Down' buttons on the side of the iPhone can also be used to take a picture.

Burst Camera

In the 'Camera' app, if you tap and hold the capture button, it will take multiple photos in rapid succession until released.

Screenshot

To take a snapshot of what is currently on your screen, you can press the Home button and the Sleep/Wake but at the same time. This will save a screen shot to your pictures.

View Battery Percentage

You can enable battery percentage by opening the 'Settings' app and tapping on General > Usage > and toggle the switch for Battery percentage. This will display a numerical percentage value for battery in the top status bar next to the battery icon.
