The global stage awaits Cody Powers, a highly skilled heavy equipment technician from Cleveland Brothers, as he prepares to compete in the Cat® inaugural Global Dealer Technician Challenge. This event, hosted by Cat, underscores the crucial role that dealer technicians like Cody play in delivering exceptional customer service.

Cody's dedication to ensuring equipment functions properly and safely is deeply personal. His grandfather was involved in a job site accident that resulted in paralysis. This life-altering event instilled in Cody a profound understanding of the importance of well-maintained machinery. This experience fuels his commitment to meticulous work and his drive to prevent similar incidents.

The first-ever Global Dealer Technician Challenge isn't just a contest; it's a tribute to the tech-savvy heroes of the trade who blend cutting-edge expertise with real-world grit. Cody’s participation isn't just a personal achievement; it's a testament to the powerhouse talent cultivated at Cleveland Brothers.

Cody’s journey in the Global Dealer Technician Challenge will unfold through a series of regional and semifinal competitions worldwide starting with the first trial at the Cat Tinaja Hills Demonstration & Learning Center. The state-of-the-art facility sits on 6,500 acres in the Tinaja Peaks Mountain range in Green Valley, Arizona. The regional challenge runs from August 18 to August 22. Cody’s goal is to be among the Top 10 finalists who will compete in the grand finals in March 2026 at ConExpo in Las Vegas.

For Cody and his peers, the Global Dealer Technician Challenge is more than just a competition; it’s an opportunity to elevate their profession and inspire the next generation.

"Cleveland Brothers is constantly seeking adept problem solvers and mechanically inclined individuals to join our team of technicians," said Jay Cleveland Jr., president and CEO of Cleveland Brothers.

This emphasis on skilled technicians comes at a critical time for the industry. By the end of 2026, it's estimated that Cat dealers will need to add over 44,000 skilled technicians.
