By: Cleveland Brothers
September 10, 2019

Three Cat wheel loaders got an upgrade recently, with the company announcing a suite of new features for the Cat 926, 930 and 938 models. Already recognized as industry standards by construction, landscaping and material handling professionals, these machines now deliver enhanced visibility and comfort thanks to a selection of new upgrade packages. If you’ve been considering expanding your fleet with a new Cat wheel loader, there’s no better time than now.

On this page, we take a look at what each machine offers and outline the main benefits of the new features common to all three. If you’d like to learn more or arrange a demonstration of any Cat product, be sure to contact Cleveland Brothers directly to set up an appointment at a location near you.

Common Features

The 926, 930 and 938 are all built on a shared platform engineered for versatile performance in any application. All machines share the following features and components:

  • Engine and powertrain: A C7.1 ACERT™ engine powers the 926, 930 and 938. Delivering high torque at a low speed, the C7.1 engine works with an intelligent Hystat powertrain to provide fuel-efficient performance that meets Tier 4 Final/Stage IV emission standards. A built-in Clean Emission Module reduces maintenance requirements for both components, so your crew can focus on the task at hand.
  • Intelligent Power Management system: Cat wheel loaders offer more than just brute force — the exclusive Intelligent Power Management system ensures that they’re running at peak efficiency at all times. Customizable modes deliver smooth and predictable multi-function performance to meet the demands of any job.
  • Optimized Z-bar linkage: Another Cat exclusive, the optimized Z-bar linkage on the 926, 930 and 938 offers superior digging efficiency in addition to versatile integrated tool carrier capabilities. Fork mode provides high tilt forces throughout the working range, giving you more control when you’re handling heavy loads. An optional High Lift linkage, available on all three models, further extends the reach and capabilities of these machines.
  • Longer service intervals: Keeping downtime to a minimum is simple with a Cat wheel loader. The 926, 930 and 938 all have extended service intervals on their hydraulic and power train filters, so you can stay up and running for longer. When maintenance is required, ground-level components provide convenient access to major service points.

Like all Cat machines, the 926, 930 and 938 are all backed by world-class support from the company’s dealer network. Cleveland Brothers provides extended warranty and equipment management solutions, parts and service from factory-trained technicians. • The 930 has a maximum gross power rating of 164 HP, an operating weight of 30,879 lbs and a bucket capacity between 2.7 and 6.5 yd3

New Features and Benefits

Cat recently released the latest iterations of the 926, 930 and 938 wheel loader platforms, with several additional standard and optional features designed to promote the following goals:

  • Enhanced visibility: Cat now equips its small wheel loaders with the Fusion Quick Coupler, which features a single piece cast design and relocated actuation cylinders to improve attachment visibility by up to 85%. Pallet fork and material handling arm attachments are newly redesigned as well, and an available hydraulic routing kit provides additional possibilities for third-function auxiliary line arrangement. Optional LED front roading lights are also available.
  • Enhanced comfort: The newest Cat wheel loaders now feature a next-gen seat fabric as well as three seating options, a high-visibility orange seat belt, USB connectivity and other upgrades that provide a more comfortable operator experience. A revised brake system improves service brake modulation, while numerous software upgrades fine-tune ergonomics and overall machine performance.
  • Client growth and success: Cat wheel loaders are now available with a free 250-hour demo of the company’s Cat Production Measurement (CPM) payload weighing system. The CPM system helps you optimize payload potential by eliminating under-loading and overloading, avoiding lost productivity and higher fuel use. Additionally, load check valves are now available on all ride-control-equipped wheel loaders.

Together, these new features add up to improved safety on the job, reduced operator fatigue and higher productivity — even over a long shift — as well as a lower cost to move materials. All that translates to more value for your business, making a Cat 926, 930 or 938 wheel loader an excellent investment for any operation.
