Small in size, but constantly busy, Wolf Excavating, Inc. has no time for breakdowns. They rely on the responsiveness of Cleveland Brothers and the high performance of Cat® machines – making Caterpillar the firm’s manufacture of choice.

Craig Wolf founded his Dillsburg, Pa., based business after 20 years in excavation. He decided to strike
out on his own when he saw a need for someone to perform small commercial work, to such as banks and office additions.

“I thought there was a niche for a business in that size,” Wolf says. “Even with only one employee, I do
work totaling $1.3 million a year.”

On work sites, Wolf relies on his Cat 305 and 308 mini-excavators, plus a CB24 compactor for paving
jobs. With that fleet, Wolf knows he will deliver high quality and excellent service to every customer, no

every two or three years.

“When two people are called on to perform that much work, I can’t have a breakdown,” he says. “I don’t want any problems. I just want to roll to the next job.”

“You get a good return on your investment,” he says. “Other brands are not the same after machines get a couple years on them.”

When Wolf decided to buy his most recent excavator, he sought quotes from three equipment dealers – one from Cleveland Brothers and two from dealers who sell other brands. Shortly after receiving the quote request, Devin Kessler at Cleveland Brothers reached out to Wolf with a quote for the excavator and Wolf made the purchase before any of the other dealers called back.

“I bought a 308, and then the other dealers called and said, ‘Hey, I have that price for you,’” Wolf says. “That shows me that Cleveland Brothers is willing to go the extra mile for their customers.”

In a fast-paced climate, full of deadlines to meet and business opportunities to seize, Wolf can always rely
on Cleveland Brothers sales representative Devin Kessler for prompt support.

“Devin always answers the phone or gets back to me in a timely manner,” says Wolf. “If I need a rental price for a job I am bidding, I can always count on him to send me a price quickly.”

Finally, Cat machines operate smoothly, making every job safer and more efficient, he says. “You can get in a Caterpillar excavator the first day you get it, and you could dig around a utility or another obstacle and feel comfortable that you’re not going to hit anything.”
